<font size="4" face="Tempus Sans ITC, Tahoma">I don't doubt you but this is what makes no sense: If you WERE in the right lane, then WHO would be in the left lane to "get around you" since, clearly, NO ONE is allowed to drive in the left lane under any condition?!!Originally posted by ek3:
he then starts to tell me how if someone wants to get around me they have to go all the way around to the far right lane and all this other shit...he takes my license and all that other shit, goes back to his car...and comes back and hands me a warning for "impeeding the flow of traffic"...I was doing 5 mph over the speed limit when I was pulled over...
I am on deadline but anxious to call the number TG gave and ask them just how the hell this is supposed to work. I mean, if you aren't allowed to drive the speed limit in the left lane and people in the right lane are going slower than the speed limit, then what the hell are you supposed to do? Is everyone supposed to pull over into the right lane and drop to the speed of the slowest person in the front? If the answer is that the left lane is for passing only, then wasn't that clearly what you were doing? Weren't you passing people in the right lane going slower than you? It seems to me there's a catch-22 going on here. Too dumb.
I noticed that he didn't ticket you but only gave you a warning, which is probably smart on his part because I just can't see that it would stand up to the scrutiny of a first year law student in court, especially since you were going faster than the posted speed limit and, therefore, shouldn't be impeding ANY traffic except speeders... or leadfooted DPS officers. Should be an interesting phone call....
